Our four-part drama airs from Monday 18th November on Channel 5 at 9pm, and follows a single month on a quest for revenge.
Imagine being caught in a fraudulent scam that threatened to unravel you and your family's life. Our new series will explore these consequences as one call changes everything in the four-part drama, Cold Call.
Starring Sally Lindsay, written by Karyn and Mark Buckland and set in Manchester, Cold Call details the story of a single mother who falls victim to a cold call scam that threatens to derail her entire life. Lindsay plays the character of June, who sets out to restore her family's future following the life-changing phone call. Furthermore, after the death of her elderly mother, June becomes fuelled by rage, and is driven to find those responsible.
The series will also star Daniel Ryan (Mount Pleasant) as Des, Paul Higgins (Line of Duty) as Kirk, Taj Atwal (Stella) as Hana, and Daniel Skinner (Sex Education) as Aubrey.
This is an incredibly exciting commission for Chalkboard, as this is the first original drama order for Channel 5 in four years, and we're itching for the series to hit screens. Speaking about the new show, Sally Lindsay said:
"I'm incredibly excited to be working with Channel 5 and Chalkboard on Cold Call. The pitch was a complete page turner, the story jumping off the page straight away. I can't wait to bring this very modern thriller alive; exploring how far a very normal woman will be stretched when she is horribly deceived, and her entire life and family are destroyed. I think the subject matter is extremely of the moment with the divide of the haves and have-nots getting ever wider."
Look out for more news, video clips, and sneak peaks over Chalkboard's social media in the run-up to its release, and tune in from Monday 18th November at 9pm, Channel 5.
