Barristers Jeremy and Sasha revisit cases previously investigated our award-winning series, 'Murder, Mystery and My Family', and catch up with the family members involved about developments since the original programmes aired.
Our original series of Murder, Mystery and My Family follows our two top criminal barristers as they team up with the relatives of those convicted of murder - and who were subsequently executed - to re-investigate the case with the help of modern forensic techniques. The objective was to determine whether the original conviction was sound and, if not, to clear the family name.
However, the stories don’t necessarily end there, and with our new companion series, Murder, Mystery And My Family: Case Closed?, cases from the first series were revisited, delving further to update viewers on the family’s quest to clear their relation’s name, along with unexpected reunions with long-lost family members, submissions to the Criminal Cases Review Commission and any new evidence that has emerged since the original show.
The companion series aired on BBC One, and 5x60 episodes are now available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
In addition, we are also looking for participants for a third series.
If a member of your family - or someone you know - was convicted of murder before 1975 and you think he or she may have been the victim of a miscarriage of justice, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
